The Behavioural Science Unit (TBSU) combines bespoke research and insight, the application of behavioural science evidence, theory, models and frameworks, as well as high quality design and creative to develop evidence-based social and behaviour change communications that improve and save lives.
Our solutions include
Field Testing
We use ‘brand lift’ studies via social media platforms to evaluate how communications perform ‘in the wild’
Lab Testing
We design survey experiments to comprehensively assess communication effectiveness and unpack the reasons for engagement.
Frame development & Testing
We conduct formative research to identify candidate narratives and frames and combine this with experimental testing to evaluate the impact of different messaging on behavioural outcomes.
Behavioural Diagnostic
Bespoke mixed-methods research to systematically analyse and understand barriers to target behaviours within target populations to inform intervention development. Drawing from rigorous frameworks (e.g. COM-B, TDF, BCTT) and translating evidence-based findings into practical techniques for communicating with your target audience.
Evaluation
Combining best practice in communications evaluation, behavioural science and causal inference to measure the impact of communication activities.
