to support Local Authorities mitigate harms from disinformation
Local Authorities across England, Wales, and Scotland recognise the growing threat to community cohesion and resilience as a result of the sustained and increasing proliferation of disinformation and conspiracy thinking.

But how do we tackle mis/disinformation, specifically assessing the spillover from social media into the real world, to inform proactive strategies?
Local Authorities across England, Wales, and Scotland recognise the growing threat to community cohesion and resilience as a result of the sustained and increasing proliferation of disinformation and conspiracy thinking.
At Lynn, we founded the UK’s first commercial anti-mis/disinformation unit, The Misinformation Cell, in 2021. Since then, we’ve worked with governments and non-governmental entities to tackle the growing threats from misinformation, using best-in-class behavioural science principles to build resilience within organisations and communities. Our approach is proprietary and focuses on mitigating the real-world impacts from misinformation – and is widely considered gold standard.
Our methodology typically focuses on not just auditing your information environment but conducting primary behavioural science research with samples of your audiences to help you understand current risks, specifically in relation to existing false or harmful beliefs, including the potential for negative behaviours spillover into the real-world. All our outputs are designed to provide intelligence, analysis, and response strategies that can support multiple service areas, therefore providing high ROI and VFM.
Lynn’s Belief Study examines how beliefs are forming amongst your local communities, specifically in relation to far right extremism, national and British identity, Islamophobia, antisemitism, and anti-immigrant sentiment, and how to proactively tackle these.
Deliverables include:
Narrative Summaries
